Hezri Earns MAC Golfer of the Week

AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron golfer Maisarah Hezri (Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia) was honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Friday (Oct. 3).
Akron Zips golf fired a 290 (+10) final 18-hole round to finish runner-up at the Butler Fall Invitational as Hezri led the way for the Blue and Gold. She finished atop the players' leaderboard, forcing a three-hole playoff on Tuesday (Sept. 30) at the Highland Country Club (Par 70, 6,040 yards).
Hezri finished tied for first on the individual leaderboard and earned runner-up after the playoff holes with an even-par 70 final round performance. She posted 13 par scores coupled with three birdies, a bogey and a double bogey for the final round even slate total. Hezri completed the 54-hole event with a field-best 69-72-70 - 211 (+1) tournament total.
Hezri entered the final round ranked second overall after posting scores of 1-under par 69 and 2-over par 72, recording 27 pars and four birdies with five bogeys in 36 holes. For the tournament, she ranked 2nd in Par 4 scoring (4.03), 3rd in Par 5 scoring (4.83) and 8th in Par 3 scoring (3.08) with 40 par scores, seven birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey.
