BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -Â The University of Akron women's soccer team battled Bowling Green for a full 90 minutes before collecting a 1-1 draw at Bowling Green on Sunday (Oct. 26). The road result was the first for the Zips against the Falcons since 2012 and only the fourth in 12 meetings at Cochrane Field.
How it Happened
Akron started the scoring when senior Rielly Chesna (Chicago, Ill.) recorded her first goal of the season in the ninth minute (8:28), assisted by freshman Addison Hall (Manchester, Conn.).
The Zips controlled the pace of play throughout the match with its defensive effort and offensive push before the Falcons leveled the match on a goal from Gabby Lamparty in the 90th minute (89:34), assisted by Emma Stransky and Emme Butera.
Game Notes
- Junior GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) totaled four saves for the Zips out of 12 total Falcons shots.
- Senior Emma King (Akron, Ohio) recorded a team-high two shots for Akron.
