Zips Fall to Central Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich - The Akron volleyball team fell to the Central Michigan Chippewas 3-0 (21-25, 14-25, 27-29) Friday on the road at McGuirk Arena.
Lyndi Wolf finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Zips offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .421. Chidera Ozoh joined Wolf for the lead in kills with eight, a hitting percentage of .583 and three blocks. Defensively, Akron had two players reach double figures in digs as Reilly Chausse had 14 and Vanessa Del Real had 11.
The loss dropped Akron's record to 9-10 overall and 2-6 in MAC action.

SET 1 | The Zips fell behind early, dropping the first set 25-21. Central Michigan grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was tied up three times before the Chippewas took control.
SET 2 | A 25-14 second-set loss put Akron in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Zips fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Central Michigan finished the sweep with a third-set win. The Zips dropped a close set, losing 29-27 in a stanza that was tied eight times and had two lead changes.
