Akron Volleyball Welcomes Seven Newcomers to the 2024 Roster

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron Volleyball team added seven additions to the 2024 roster as the Zips get set to begin the upcoming season on August 30.
Isabelle Percoco, Martina Villani, Evridiki Eleftheriadou, Payton Evans, Gabby Brissett, Reilly Chausse and Delaney Gash are set to join the Zips this fall.
Percoco comes to Akron after playing at Georgia State and most recently at Northern Illinois. She played in 29 matches and started five at NIU where she recorded 153 kills and 60 digs. She recorded a season-high 14 kills against Central Michigan while recording the third-most blocks with 73. While at Georgia State she recorded 229 kills. Set a career-high in kills with 14 coming against USC Upstate in 2022.
Villani comes to Akron after playing at Monroe CC in 2023. Playing in 32 matches and appearing in 98 sets, she recorded 724 assists for 7.29 assists per set. She also recorded 41 kills, 44 aces, 105 digs and 45 total blocks.
Eleftheriadou is a native of Greece where she competed on the U17 Greek National team. She was a champion in the U18 Greek National Championship in 2022-23 with OLYMPIACOS while being named the MVP. She was also the MVP in the Greece National Championship with Athlesi in 2021-22.
Evans is a setter who comes to Akron from Cincinnati, Ohio, while playing for the Elevation Volleyball Club and Mason HS. She was named First-Team All-Conference and All-District while lettering in volleyball and track all four years. She finished second at the USAV 18s nationals in the national division.
Brissett is a transfer from Bellarmine where she played in 56 matches and 193 sets. She recorded 158 kills, 26 digs and 35 total blocks in 2023. In 2022, she ranked third in blocks with 24 and fifth in kills per set with 1.66 and total kills with 154. She registered double-digit kills on six occasions, including 12 in her collegiate debut against Bucknell.
Chausse is a Libero from Orlando Parks, Ill., and played for 1st Alliance and Carl Sandburg HS. She was named to the AVCA All-American Watch list in 2023 while also being named to the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association Girls All-State First-Team, SWSC All-Conference and was named the SWCA Player of the Year.
Gash, a hitter from Lexington, Ky., played for Lexington United Volleyball and Paul Laurence Dunbar HS. She was a 2023 AAU All-American and was named First-Team All-State twice and the 2023 Region 11 Player of the Year.
