Baseball Earns 2023-24 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Akron Baseball team recently earned the American Baseball Coaches Association 2023-24Â Team Academic Excellence Award.
Teams from every level of college and high school baseball were honored with this year's award, which highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year.
The Zips had six members named to the Academic All-MAC team with Breydan Cavey, Max Bowman, Jack Poist, Sam Seeker, Michael Sprockett, and Yassir Kahook earning honors. Seeker, Poist, Schaeffer, Jack Kelley and Fisher Pyatt were named to the 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District® Baseball team this past spring.
