LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Akron track and field team continued its efforts at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Thursday (May 23) led by junior Joy Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) in the women's 200 and 400 meters.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Nwokike posted qualifying times of 23.63 and 53.98, in the women's 200 and 400 meters, respectively.

UP NEXT
Third-day competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round continues Friday (May 24) with sophomore Brian Masai (Kitale, Kenya) and redshirt sophomore Owen Wendl (Medina, Ohio) taking part in the men's 5,000 meters and men's discus, respectively.
