LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Akron track and field team completed opening-day efforts at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Wednesday (May 22).
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Lane Graham (Killbuck, Ohio) registered a career-best mark of 207-1 (63.13m) to place 17th in the qualifying round, while redshirt senior Jabari Neal-Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio) capped his Akron career with a throw of 206-6 (62.95m) to place 18th.
• Freshman Andrew Styles (Freeport, Bahamas) and sophomore Tysean Baronette (Middletown, Dela.) tallied times of 21.09 and 21.42, respectively, in the qualifying round of the men's 200 meters.

Second-day competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round commences on Thursday (May 23) with junior Joy Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) taking part in qualifying in the women's 200 and 400 meters, respectively.
