COLUMBUS, Ohio – University of Akron track and field distance runners garnered season- and career-best performances on the opening night of the Jesse Owens Memorial Classic hosted by Ohio State on Friday (April 19).
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Redshirt junior Danielle Honaker (Ashland, Ohio) placed fourth in the women's 5,000 meters in a career-best time of 17:17.83.
• Freshman Mary Munga (Nyandarau, Kenya) crossed the line in 4:29.12 to lead the Zips' efforts in the women's 1,500 meters.
