CLARKSVILLE, TN --Senior Jordan Benefiel and junior Samantha Miener combined to throw a shutout on Saturday as the Austin Peay Governors blanked the Akron Zips 10-0.
Senior Cailey Joyce (4-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Akron (6-10).
At the plate, the Zips were led by sophomore Meagan Lee, who went 3-for-3 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Akron managed one chance with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. The Zips last got a runner on third in the fourth, when Lee made it 60 feet away from scoring with nobody out.
GAME NOTES
» Lee led the Zips, compiling three base hits in the ballgame.
