Pyatt's Home Run Not Enough in 6-2 Loss at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Fisher Pyatt's two-run home run and 2-for-3 night wasn't enough as the Akron Zips fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers 6-2 Â
At the plate, the Zips were led by Pyatt, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBI. Charlie Schebler went 1-for-4 with a triple.
Elijah Griffith (1-1) took the loss on the mound for Akron (5-18). Josiah Ross dealt 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit out of the pen, walking none and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Akron plated two runs when Pyatt left the yard with James Strom aboard. The Zips were unable to hold the lead, as West Virginia scored six times over the remaining six innings to grab the 6-2 win.
