Akron Women's Soccer Unveils Talented Eight-Member Signing Class

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's soccer squad under the leadership of third-year head coach Jen Simonetti, has added a talented eight-member newcomer class that will hit the pitch for the Zips during the 2025 campaign.
Donning the Akron uniform this fall will be Freya Blatz (Bethel Park, Pa.), Fiona Buczak (Brunswick, Ohio), Finn Cregan (Rochester, N.Y.), Luisa Fragnoli (Medina, Ohio), Addison Hall (Manchester, Conn.), Bailey Kerins (Dublin, Ohio), Olivia Pilato (Rochester, N.Y.) and Devyn Raymond (Shelby Township, Mich.).
A native of Bethel Park, Pa., Blatz, a goalkeeper, is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com and the No. 24 rated player in the Pennsylvania region. A four-year letterwinner at Bethel Park High School, an all-conference selection, she twice garnered all-sectional accolades. She has been selected to play in the Senior All-Star game. Additionally, she gained valuable club playing experience with Century United (GA).
A native of Brunswick, Ohio, Buczak, a midfielder, is a four-year letterwinner at Brunswick High School where she was a three-time first-team all-conference performer. She helped direct her squad to a pair of district semifinal appearances, while earning All-Greater Akron accolades four times and All-Gazette honors in three seasons. Additionally, she gained valuable club playing experience with Internationals SC (ECNL) where her team captured a trio of ECNL OVC titles en route to becoming a three-time ECNL national qualifier and 2022 ECNL National Semifinalist.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Cregan, a midfielder, is a four-year letterwinner at Brighton High School where she finished her prep career registering 37 goals, while adding 55 assists. A four-time all-conference performer, including first-team all-league accolades as a junior and senior, while twice being tabbed an all-tournament selection. She helped lead her team to the sectional finals en route to being named to participate in the 2024 Senior Selection game, scoring four goals in the game. Additionally, she has gained valuable club playing experience with Western New York Flash (ECNL).
A native of Medina, Ohio, Fragnoli, a defender, is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. A four-year letterwinner at Highland High School, she helped direct the defensive efforts of her squad to post 17 shutouts en route to recording a 20-2-1 mark and a berth in the Division III state title game as a senior. An all-conference performer, she sparked her team to conference, district and regional titles in 2024. Additionally, she gained valuable club playing experience with Internationals SC (ECNL), where her teams captured a trio of ECNL OVC titles en route to becoming a three-time ECNL national qualifier and 2022 ECNL National Semifinalist.
A native of Manchester, Conn., Hall, a versatile midfielder and forward, is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com out of Manchester High School in Manchester, Conn. A four-year letterwinner, an all-conference performer, she capped her senior campaign registering 30 goals, while adding 30 assists. Her squads qualified for the state tournament in three of her four seasons, and she is a nominee for the 2024 Connecticut Senior All-Star game. She also gained valuable club playing experience with the Connecticut Football Club (ECNL).
A native of Dublin, Ohio, Kerins, a defender, is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. A four-year letterwinner at Bishop Watterson High School, she helped her squad post a school record for wins this season en route to capturing the 2024 Division II state title. A four-time all-conference selection, she sparked her team to conference championships during each of her four seasons, while twice winning district titles. She has been selected to play in the 2024 Senior All-Star game. Additionally, she gained valuable club playing experience with Ohio Premier (ECNL) where her team earned a bid to the National Finals in 2022 in Richmond, Va.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., Pilato, a forward, is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. A four-year letterwinner at Hilton Central High School, she registered 16 goals and 19 assists over the previous two campaigns, including recording seven goals and 10 assists as a senior. A three-time all-county selection, she helped her squad capture a Monroe County divisional championship and was selected to participate in the 2024 Senior Selection Game. Additionally, she gained valuable club playing experience with Western New York Flash (ECNL).
A native of Shelby Township, Mich., Raymond, a forward is a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. She gained valuable playing experience competing with the Nationals Blue soccer club (GA/ECNL) on a squad that consistently competed for national championships in the Girls Academy League prior to transitioning to the ECNL in 2024. She will play her first season of high school soccer for Eisenhower High School in the spring of 2025.
