Buffalo has played three nationally ranked opponents this season, going up against then No. 3 Pittsburgh (L, 0-3), No. 20 Miami (L, 0-3) and No. 16 Florida (L, 0-3). The Bulls also went five-sets with Ohio State earlier this season, which resulted in a 3-2 defeat.
