AKRON, Ohio - The 11th-ranked University of Akron rifle team travels to Annapolis, Md., to battle No. 1 West Virginia and 13th-rated Navy on Saturday (Jan. 27) at 9 a.m.

Senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) leads the Zips this season posting team-best averages of 1178.91, 596.00 and 582.91, respectively, in the combined, air and smallbore rifles.

Scheduled to compete for the Zips are sophomore Andrew Duross (Marlborough, Mass.), junior Rachel Engels (Meridian, Idaho), freshman Diane Heschel (Oak Harbor, Ohio), junior Alexis Kirk (Clarence Center, N.Y.), sophomore Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.), Perkowski, senior Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine) and redshirt senior Brendan Seitz (Milford, Mass.).
