Zips Travel to Philly for Season Opener at Temple

The University of Akron football team opens its 123rd season in Philadelphia, Pa. at Lincoln Financial Field against the Temple Owls on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Bill Spalding and Stanford Routt calling the action with a link on GoZips.com.

Warner finished the season with 3,028 yards passing, the second highest mark in Owl program history. Last season, Temple ranked 24th in the nation in passing defense, allowing 198.58 yards per game.

AKRON NAMES FIVE CAPTAINS FOR THE 2023 CAMPAIGN
The Zips elected seniors QB DJ Irons, WR Daniel George, DL Ryan Johnson and DB KJ Martin as captains for Akron for the 2023 campaign.
