Ypsilanti, Mich. – The Akron Zips scored 14 runs on 16 hits to secure the 14^th win of the season in a non-conference game against Eastern Michigan at Oestrike Stadium on Wednesday.

Sam Seeker, Jack Poist and Nick Arrivo all posted 3-of-5 performances from the plate, while a three collecting doubles. Seeker belted a three-run homerun in the second inning to give Akron (14-22) an early 3-0 advantage. He finished the game with four RBI and two runs scored, while Poist followed with two RBI and a pair of runs scored. Ian Pennington also registered a pair of RBI while Arrivo plated one run and scored three times.

The Zips started the scoring in the first inning as Seeker blasted a three-run shot over the right field wall. Eastern Michigan (16-18) answered with one run in the first and second innings before Akron put up another crooked number in the third.

Akron used five hits in the third inning to plate three runs and established a 6-3 advantage. Pennington started the inning off with a solo homerun to centerfield, while Arrivo and Poist delivered back-to-back doubles for a run. Seeker followed with a base hit to left field to push the final run of the inning across the plate.

EMU tied the game 6-6 in the fourth inning, generating four runs on four hits. However, the Zips responded with five runs in the fifth inning as Pennington and Arrivo collected RBI. With an 11-6 lead, Akron pushed three more runs across the plate, scoring two in the sixth inning and one in the ninth. Seeker and Kaito Hara unleashed consecutive doubles for the first run, while Stolarski sent a two-out RBI single through the left side of the infield to give Akron a 13-9 advantage after six innings. The Zips finished the scoring in the ninth as Poist singled to left field, plating Pennington who was hit by a pitch.
