AKRON, Ohio – A second-half rally propelled Wofford to a 17-13 triumph past the University of Akron lacrosse team on Tuesday, March 21 at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) scored a career-high six goals in the match for Akron, while senior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.), sophomore Gabby Mahaffey (Columbus, Ohio) and senior Sarah Pattison (Cincinnati, Ohio) added two goals apiece for the Zips.
• The two sides exchanged the first six goals of the afternoon before back-to-back tallies from Clinkscales and Pattison at the 8:52 and 7:12 marks of the second quarter gave Akron a 5-3 advantage.
• Wofford squared the contest at five before goals from Kiefer and Mahaffey at the 2:19 and 1:32 marks, respectively, provided the Zips a 7-6 edge at halftime.
• Akron took a 9-8 lead in the third quarter on a goal from Mahaffey at the 9:05 mark before six unanswered tallies from the Terriers over the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth gave Wofford an advantage it didn't relinquish.
• Clinkscales connected on a trio of goals in the final period for Akron to go along with a tally at the 1:22 mark from junior Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, lll.).
• Sophomore GK Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) recorded 11 saves in net for the Zips.
