CINCINNATI, Ohio - The third-rated University of Akron men's soccer team battled Xavier to a 0-0 draw on Saturday (Oct. 14) at Corcoran Field.
How it Happened
Akron recorded 12 shots in the scoreless draw, led by five from junior Jason Shokalook (Erie, Pa.), with five of the 12 strikes falling on goal. The Zips faced 13 Xavier shots, three of them on goal. Redshirt sophomore GK Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.) led Akron with two saves.
Game Notes
- Budler and redshirt freshman GK Seth Wilson (Frisco, Texas) combined to collect two saves for the Zips out of eight total Musketeers shots and earn Akron's ninth shutout on the campaign.
