AKRON, Ohio – Senior OH Teagan Ochaya floored 13 kills and posted a .294 hitting percentage as the Akron volleyball team fell 3-0 to Youngstown State at James A. Rhodes Arena on Thursday.

Chloe Werner followed in scoring for Akron with 10 kills and a .368 hitting percentage, while Baylee Vought and Avery Brown tossed 15 and 14 assists, respectively.

Paula Gursching powered Youngstown State's offense, hitting .475 and flooring 21 kills en route to 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19 wins. Two additional Penguins hit over .400 as Abbie Householder (.409) and Josi Borum (.455) collected 10 and 5 kills.

Akron will be back in action at Woodling Gymnasium against Cleveland State for a second meeting of the season on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. Fans can follow the action on ESPN+ or via live stats on GoZiips.com.
