CINCINNATI, Ohio – Graduate student Jacinta Pikunas led the Akron women's golf team at the season-opening tournament, finishing in the Top 15 after firing a 72 (+1) final round at the Jennifer Duke Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati at the Losantiville Country Club on Tuesday.

Pikunas climbed 12 spots on the leaderboard to finish in the Top 15 with the 1-over par final round, completing the 54-hole event at the Par 71, 6,075-yard Orange course with a 79-78-72 – 229 (+16) total.

Akron finished seventh overall in team scoring (+87, 325-310-304 – 939) as Jessica Hahn fired a final round 75 (+3) to finish 31^st overall with a 81-80-75 – 236 (+23) total. Newcomers Avery Wright, Daphne van Son and Abbi Fleiner rounded out the Zips' scoring with 237 (+24), 240 (+27) and 242 (+29) tournament totals.

Akron is scheduled to return to the course at The Players Club at Woodland Trails for the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20
