BLOOMINGTON, IND. - University of Akron freshman Fegor Clifford (Delta State, Nigeria) advanced to the quarterfinal round of the women's 400-meter hurdles to lead the efforts of the Zips' women's track and field team at the NCAA East Preliminary Round Championship hosted by Indiana University on Thursday, May 26.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• With the top-three times in each of the six heats as well as the ensuing top-six times qualifying for the quarterfinal round on Saturday, May 28, Clifford crossed the line in a time of 59.00.
• Junior Amya Clarke (Christ Church, St. Kitts and Nevis) posted a time of 11.60 in the opening round of the women's 100 meters.
• Redshirt sophomore Laurel Bristow (Pittsburgh, Pa.) garnered a mark of 148-5 (45.25m) in qualifying in the women's javelin.
• Junior Jacqueline Pokuaah (Kumasi, Ghana) recorded a mark of 16-11.25 (5.16m) in qualifying for the women's long jump.
