LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of Akron track and field team garnered solid marks in a pair of field events at the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State on Friday, April 15.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore William Gross (Newfane, N.Y.) placed 10th in the men's hammer with a season-best mark of 209-8 (63.92m)
• Redshirt sophomore Laurel Bristow (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished 10th in the women's javelin with a mark of 146-5 (44.64m)

UP NEXT:
Akron concludes competition at the Beach Invitational and Mt. Sac Relays on Saturday, April 16.
