Jackie Wallgren Named to NCAA DI Women’s Soccer Committee

AKRON, Ohio- Akron's Senior Associate Director of Athletics/SWA Jackie Wallgren has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee.
"I am honored to be selected to serve on the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee and represent the University of Akron and the Mid-American Conference on a national scale," added Wallgren. "As a former soccer student-athlete, it is extra special for me to be able to contribute to the game that gave so much to me. I look forward to getting to work!"
The NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee is responsible for the organization and implementation of the national championship tournament, including the determination of the participants and the creation of the bracket. The committee also establishes playing rules and procedures for competition.
In her role at Akron, Wallgren provides strategic leadership and is responsible for broad supervision of the athletic department's internal units, which include Title IX, compliance, academic support services, SAAC, and sports oversight in women's golf, women's lacrosse, rifle, men's and women's soccer, softball, swimming & diving and volleyball.
Wallgren's term of service on the committee begins September 1, 2022 and will continue through August 31, 2026.
