AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's golf team return to the course on Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 7-8, at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge hosted by Bowling Green at Royal Lakes Golf Course in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

The match play event at the 6,068-yard, Par-72 Royal Lakes course at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club features a 12-team field, including nine teams from the Mid-American Conference. Teams competing from the MAC are host Bowling Green, Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan, while other non-league opponents include Illinois State, Morehead State and Western Illinois.

The match play format allows each team of five players to compete in at least three matches, some players will compete in four based on record The Top 4 seeded teams will receive a bye for Monday's morning session (CMU(1), NIU (2), ISU (3), and Akron (4)). Akron will play the winner of the Ball State versus Eastern Michigan match in Monday's afternoon session. Matches 16, 17, 18 and 19 will be  a "round robin" type format.

Akron's starting five consists of sophomore Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio), sophomore Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio), junior Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio), junior Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) and sophomore Riley Dean (Lewis Center, Ohio).
