Akron and Miami are meeting for the 60th time in program history, with the RedHawks owning a 39-20 series edge. The Zips swept the RedHawks last season with an 84-77 win, followed by an 84-63 victory.
LAST TIME OUT
The Zips improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 MAC after the Zips came away with a 79-69 victory over Bowling Green for its second-straight win. Redshirt senior Jordyn Dawson (Huntington, W Va.) recorded the second triple-double in program history on Saturday afternoon against totaling 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 10. Thanks to hot shooting (51.9 percent), Dawson's all-around performance and a defense that forced 17 Bowling Green turnovers and converted those turnovers into 19 points.
Freshman forward Reagan Bass (Strongsville, Ohio) (12 points) sophomore guard Annika Corcoran (Painesville, Ohio)(11) and junior forward Lonasia Brewer (Akron, Ohio) (11) all scored in double figures for Akron.

SCOUTING MIAMI
The RedHawks, stand 4-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play under the direction of 4th-year head coach DeUnna Hendrix after falling 88-83 against Buffalo back on Jan.1 Peyton Scott led Miami (4-6, 0-1 MAC) with 18 points to pace five RedHawks in double figures. Cluse added 17 points and eight rebounds, while Duckett chipped in 14 points and eight boards. Battle had 13 points and Katie Davidson contributed 10 in her first start of the season. Scott had a team-high seven assists.
Miami is averaging 71.2 points per game on 43.2 percent shooting (286-662) from the floor and 69-231 percent shooting (29.9 percent) from long range. The RedHawks have a duo of players averaging in double-figures in Peyton Scott (19.2 ppg) and Ivy Wold (10.4 ppg). As a team, Miami ranks fifth in offense (71.6 ) and is fourth the MAC in FG percentage (43.2).
Defensively, the Falcons have held their opponents to 70.9 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting from the floor and 26.3 percent from beyond the arc. Miami has 202 turnovers (20.2 turnovers per game) while collecting 103 steals (10.3 steals per game). On the glass, the RedHawks have out-rebounded their opponents, 403-354 for a +4.9 margin.
