ATHENS, Ohio -Â A pair of first-half goals proved too much for the University of Akron women's soccer team to overcome as Ohio (1-2-0, 1-2-0 MAC) registered a 3-0 triumph past the Zips (0-3-0, 0-3-0 MAC) on Sunday, March 14 at Peden Stadium.

The Zips were outshot in the affair, 18-1, including Ohio owning a 7-0 edge in shots on goal.

Sophomore GK Vanessa Berlin (Gau-Odernheim, Germany) notched four saves for Akron in net, while her counterpart Sydney Malham, earned a clean-sheet victory without making a stop.

Akron returns to action hosting Buffalo in a 7 p.m. contest at FirstEnergy Stadium on Thursday, March 18.
