AKRON, Ohio - University of Akron freshman Kayla Andreoli (Washington, Pa.) will culminate her rookie campaign on the biggest stage competing in the air rifle at the NCAA Rifle Championships on Saturday, March 13, in Columbus, Ohio.

Andreoli will commence the air rifle competition at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at Converse Hall on the campus of Ohio State. The top-eight finishers after the morning relay will advance to the finals at 3:15 p.m.

Andreoli earned the distinction of becoming the fifth Akron Zip to qualify as an at-large individual selection for the NCAA Championships, joining junior teammate Andre Gross (Webster, N.Y.) (2019), Matt Chezem (2015), Sarah Benjamin (2010) and Jenna Compton (2009).

Andreoli has registered 583.67 average on the campaign in the air rifle, while posting a 576.41 average in the smallbore rifle. Collectively, she maintains a 1160.00 aggregate average in the combined disciplines.

A year ago, the Zips earned their first-ever team berth in the NCAA Championships, but were unable to compete after the meet was canceled due to COVID-19.

In 2019, Gross garnered All-America accolades after placing second in the air rifle at the NCAA Championships in Morgantown, W.Va.
