Eleven Zips Garner Academic All-MAC Women’s Soccer Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The University of Akron women's soccer. Team earned 11 selections when the Mid-American Conference released its 2021 Women's Soccer Academic All-MAC Team on Thursday afternoon.
In all, 147 student-athletes from 12 conference institutions were honored including redshirt freshman Katharina Bilz (Huenstetten Wallbach, Germany), sophomore Bailee Bowers (Dublin, Ohio), redshirt freshman Clara Knoepke (Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany), redshirt junior Aislinn Meaney (Ennis, Ireland), redshirt freshman Sarah Nguyen (Irwin, Pa.), juniors Carly Pcholinsky (South Park, Pa.) and Kayleigh Penton (Vermillion, Ohio), redshirt freshmen Katie Stafford (Gahanna, Ohio) and Annabel Thomas (Canonsburg, Pa.) and juniors Sydney Ward (Connellsville, Pa.), and Sydney Worthy (Groveport, Ohio).
To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the scheduled contests for that particular sport.
