AKRON, Ohio- University of Akron Athletics and the Z-Fund are excited to announce a new fundraising campaign for the 2021-22 men's and women's basketball season called Let It Fly. The Let It Fly campaign is a new way of pledging a contribution to the Z-Fund based on made three-point baskets during the men's and women's basketball seasons.
As the Zips 'Let It Fly' on the court, your support for all University of Akron student-athletes will grow. Pledges will be charged at the end of each month. For example, if you pledge $0.10 per made three-point basket and Akron makes 50 that month, you would be charged $5.00. For example, during the 2019-20 season (the last full regular season) the two squads combined for 480 made threes. With a $0.50 per made basket commitment, you would have contributed a total of $240 for the season.
You will have the ability to choose from several pre-selected amounts or enter any amount of your choosing. All donations will go to supporting the Z-Fund and the more than 500 student-athletes on the Akron campus. Without the support of generous contributors like yourself, we would not be able to provide the opportunities they receive both on and off the court in pursuit of their dreams.
Updates on the campaign will be emailed to all participants throughout the season.
