Akron Football Earns 11 Academic All-MAC Selections

2020 ACADEMIC ALL-MAC FOOTBALL TEAM RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio -Â The University of Akron football team earned 11 selections when the Mid-American Conference released its 2020 Football Academic All-MAC teams on Friday, Jan. 15.

In all, 190 student-athletes from five conference institutions were honored including; senior Jerry Fitschen (Orange, Calif.), redshirt junior Cameron Lyons (Morgantown, W.Va.), junior Brandon Bischof (Akron, Ohio), redshirt sophomores Zach DiLauro (Akron, Ohio) and Logan Hawkins (Harrison City, Pa.), sophomores Julian Richardson (Albany, Ga.) and Bryce Wilson (Lilburn, Ga.) and redshirt freshmen Ryan Beckman (Avon Lake, Ohio), Shawn Naim (Brecksville, Ohio), Alex Robarge (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and Corey Thomas, Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the scheduled contests and/or completed at the league championship in the particular sport.
