NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Akron men's and women's cross country team under the leadership of head coaches Lee LaBadie and Trey Brokaw recognition for their efforts in the classroom as both were honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as Division I All-Academic squads for the 2019 campaign.
The Akron women's squad recorded a 3.65 GPA (No. 37 in Division I) and garnered recognition for their work in the classroom for the sixth straight year.
The Zips' men's team boasted a 3.21 cumulative team grade point average, marking the 10th-consecutive year in which the men's squad achieved USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades.
Additionally, senior Marc Migliozzi (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was tabbed a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete maintaining a 3.39 GPA majoring in mechanical engineering.
Overall, 237 women's teams and 191 men's teams earned All-Academic honors.
