Trio of Zips Culminate Campaign at NCAA Cross Country Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Akron men's cross country freshman Mercy Jebitok (Kapsabet, Kenya), sophomore Bismack Kipchirchir (Eldama Ravine, Kenya) and junior Titus Kirui (Eldoret, Kenya) culminated their stellar campaigns competing for the Zips at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by Missouri at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday (Nov. 21).

The fifth Akron women's runner to qualify for the NCAA Championships, Jebitok crossed the line in 20:07.6 to place 131st in the women's 6K field.

Kipchirchir and Kirui registered times of 30:13.2 (172) and 30:26.9 (198) over the length of the 10K course.

Kipchirchir became the first Akron runner to compete in back-to-back championships, while Kirui made his NCAA Championship debut.
