UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – University of Akron senior Varvara Lissichkina (Karaganda, Kazahkstan) garnered a pair of strong performances to mark the debut of the 2020 Zips' track and field team at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 11.
In her collegiate indoor debut for Akron, Lissichkina placed third in the women's 600-meter run in a time of 1:33.96.
She capped her efforts on the day crossing the line in 2:14.38 in the women's 800 meters to finish second.
The Zips will officially commence their indoor campaign hosting Central Michigan in a dual meet at the Stile Athletics Field House on Friday, Jan. 17. Competition is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
