LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) led the Akron women's golf team through the first round of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational as the Zips fired a 310 (+22) on Friday.

Hahn carded 13 par scores and a birdie en route to a team-best 75 (+3) ledger. She started the 18-hole first round with three even-par performances before falling back two strokes midway through the first nine holes. Hahn finished with three par scores to end the initial nine holes with a 38 (+2) total. After the turn, Hahn carded a pair of bogeys before earning a birdie on hole No. 5. She finished the round with four consecutive pars. Hahn is currently ranked 24^th overall.

Freshmen Riley Dean (Lewis Center, Ohio) and Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) followed for the Zips in scoring with 77 (+5) and 78 (+6), respectively. Dean carded three birdies and David had two. The newcomers currently rank tied for 42^nd and 52^nd overall.

Rounding out Akron's scoring were sophomores Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) and Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) with 80 (+8) and 81 (+9) totals.

Kentucky leads the 13-team field by two strokes with a 285 (-3) team total while Penn State registered a 287 (-1) team tally. Mathilde Delavallade (Penn State) and Carlota Palacios (Tulane) lead the individual race with 69 (-3) scores.

The Zips are scheduled to start the second round on hole No. 10 with Shah leading the way at 8:30 a.m. followed by Pikunas (8:39), David (8:48), Dean (8:57) and Hahn (9:06).
