AKRON, Ohio – Led by victories in the men's and women's javelin from redshirt junior Ian Behm (Volant, Pa.) and freshman Laurel Bristow (Pittsburgh, Pa.), the University of Akron men's and women's track and field teams capped the final day of the Northeast Ohio Quad registering a pair of individual victories as part of six overall top-three performances at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex on Saturday, April 6.
Behm won the men's javelin with a mark of 205-2 (62.53m), while freshman Bobby Casey (Mayfield, Ohio), senior Kamar Majid (Akron, Ohio) and redshirt junior Malik Hudson (Cleveland, Ohio) recorded marks of 178-11 (54.53m), 164-1 (50.02m) and 163-4 (49.79m) to earn third-, fourth- and fifth-place showings, respectively.
Bristow and freshman Trinity Clark (Kane, Pa.) garnered first- and second-place efforts in the women's javelin with marks of 144-9 (44.13m) and 141-1 (43.00m).
Seniors Abigale Wilson (Carrollton, Ohio) and Olivia Snyder (Navarre, Ohio) recorded identical third- and fifth-place finishes in the women's discus and shot put. Wilson and Snyder posted marks of 164-6 (50.15m) and 148-8 (45.31m) in the discus, while turning in marks of 50-9.50 (15.48m) and 50-1.25 (15.27m) in the shot put. Snyder's effort in the shot put stands as a career-best mark and the fifth-best performance in outdoor program history.
Redshirt junior Shawnn Foster (Cheektowa, N.Y.) registered a mark of 172-3 (52.50m) to earn a fifth-place finish in the women's hammer, while redshirt sophomore Emily Taylor (Mount Perry, Ohio) posted a mark of 164-8 (50.19m) to place eighth.
Redshirt freshman Jacob Hutcherson (Uniontown, Ohio) placed seventh in the men's hammer with a personal-best mark of 155-0 (47.25m).
The Zips are scheduled to be off of competition next weekend before traveling to California to partake in a pair of meets, April 17-20.

Behm won the men's javelin with a mark of 205-2 (62.53m), while freshman Bobby Casey (Mayfield, Ohio), senior Kamar Majid (Akron, Ohio) and redshirt junior Malik Hudson (Cleveland, Ohio) recorded marks of 178-11 (54.53m), 164-1 (50.02m) and 163-4 (49.79m) to earn third-, fourth- and fifth-place showings, respectively.
Bristow and freshman Trinity Clark (Kane, Pa.) garnered first- and second-place efforts in the women's javelin with marks of 144-9 (44.13m) and 141-1 (43.00m).
