Williamsburg, Va. – The Akron Zips women's golf wrapped-up play with a fifth-best 960 (+96) team total at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate on Tuesday as senior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) and freshman Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) turned-in 12th-place performances with a pair of 233 (+17) scores.

On the final day of competition at the 6,025-yard, par-72 River Course, Shah carded the Zips' best round with a 76 (+4) mark that included 12 par scores and a birdie. She entered the round with a 13-over par 158 total after starting the 54-hole tournament with 76 (+4) and 81 (+9) scores. She climbed three spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 12th overall at 17-over par (233).

Sophomore Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) followed with the final round's second-best 79 (+7) performance. Pearce ascended seven spots on the leaderboard to finish tied at 42nd overall with an 81-89-79 – 249 (+33) tournament total.

Seniors Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) and Nicholson registered 81 (+9) and 82 (+10) final 18-hole round scores, respectively. Dull used back-to-back 81 (+9) tallies to bump-up one spot on the leaderboard, finishing tied for 36th overall with an 85-81-81 – 247 (+31) tournament total.

Nicholson's 10-over par effort placed her 12th overall after starting the tournament with 76 (+4) and 75 (+3) results.

Rounding out Akron's scoring was junior Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.). Wentworth also climbed seven placed on the final leaderboard with an 83 (+11) ledger. She completed the tournament with 84-88-83 – 255 (+39) scores to finish tied for 52nd overall.

Seton Hall won the 14-team field tournament title with a 301-313-304 – 918 (+54) team total, while High Point claimed runner-up honors, 308-317-303 - 928 (+64).

Individually, Seton Hall's Mia Kness collected individual medalist honors, 71-74-73 - 218 (+2), and High Point's Sarah Kahn earned runner-up honors, 77-74-73 - 224 (+8).

Akron will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30, at the University Club at Arlington for the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Ky.
