AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team will travel to the Midwest for three road matches this week.
The Zips (10-3 overall) visit Illinois State (7-4 overall) on Thursday, Feb. 28, for a Noon CT (1 p.m. ET) match at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
On Saturday, March 2, Akron takes on Butler (6-6 overall) at 1 p.m. at the Butler Tennis Bubble. UA then faces IUPUI (2-6 overall) at 6 p.m. at the West Indy Racquet Club.
"Many of our MAC opponents have played all three of these teams," said Akron head coach Brandon Padgett. "It will give us a good gauge as to where we are and where some of the other schools are. Illinois State is strong. They just took a tough lost to Toledo."
In series action, Illinois State leads Akron, 1-0. In their only meeting in 1991, ISU claimed a 5-4 win.
Akron leads Butler, 5-2, in series action. Last season, the Zips swept the Bulldogs, 7-0, at the LaTuchie Tennis Center.
The Zips lead IUPUI, 6-4. In their last meeting in 2016, UA swept the Jags, 7-0, at LaTuchie.
