Andrews Earns MAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week Honors

MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron cross country senior Mackenzie Andrews (Toowoomba, Australia) was honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Andrews was recognized by the league for the second time this season after winning the award on Sept. 10.
Andrews continued her dominating run of performances in 2019 leading the Zips' women's squad across the finish line for the third consecutive race at the Joe Piane-Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 4, on the strength of a 5K time of career-best 17:00.49 en route to placing third. She helped lead the Zips to a fifth-place team finish in the Gold Division.
The Akron men's and women's cross country teams return to competition traveling to University Park, Pa., for the Penn State National on Oct. 18.
