Greenville, S.C. – Second-round play resumed on Sunday morning and the 21-team field completed the final round as the Akron men's golf team climbed six spots with an 893 (+29) tournament total to finish 10th overall at the Furman Intercollegiate.

Akron posted a 298 (+10) final round to complete the 54-hole event 10th overall with 305-290-298 – 893 (+29) at the Furman University Golf Course, a par 72 course that spans 7,031 yards.

Junior Elliott Grayson (Shelby, N.C.) finished tied for sixth place overall after leading the Zips' scoring with a 3-under par 213 tournament total. Grayson fired a final round 70 (-2) and posted rounds of 69 (-3) and 74 (+2). He used nine pars and six birdies for the 2-under ledger and completed the tournament with 28 pars and a second-best 15 birdies.

Senior George Baylis (Ascot, England) followed with a 225 (+9) score, finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 75 (+3) tally. He added rounds of 74 (+2) and 76 (+4) to finish tied for 54th overall.

Junior Jacob Appleby (North Canton, Ohio) cut seven strokes off his previous round for a 73 (+1) final effort. He completed the tournament with a 230 (+14) score and finished tied for 76th place. Appleby opened the event with a 77 (+5) and 80 (+8).

Also finishing tied for 76th overall was freshman Fabian Sunden (Sweden). Sunden followed an even-par second round and plus-6 first round with an 80 (+8) showing to finish with a 230 (+14) scorecard. Rounding out the Zips' scoring was sophomore Mitchell McFarland (Wheelersburg, Ohio) with a 233 (+17) score on rounds of 78 (+6), 75 (+3), and 80 (+8).

North Florida won the team title with a 17-under par 278-285-284 – 847 score, while the Ospreys swept top honors as Phillip Knowles earned medalist 66-71-70 – 207 (-9) and Andrew Alligood was runner-up 70-72-68 – 210 (-6). Â
