AKRON, Ohio – The Akron men's golf team traveled south to Powells Point, N.C. for their final tournament of the fall season at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 21-23.

Old Dominion hosts the three-day, 54-hole tournament at the par 72 Kilmarlic Golf Club that stretches 6,550 yards.

"This season has flown by, and I can't believe we are at the end of our fall season," head coach David Trainor said. "We love this event and this golf course, and look forward to getting the tournament going tomorrow. There are some really good teams here, and I want to see what our team can do against them."

The Zips starting lineup includes senior Elliott Grayson (Shelby, N.C.), junior Mitchell McFarland (Wheelersburg, Ohio), redshirt freshmen Beau Bayerl (Ashland, Ohio and Kaleb Smith (Mansfield, Ohio) along with freshman Ignacio Puente (Seville, Spain).

Grayson and McFarland enter the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate as the Zips' top golfers, each with a 73.5 Â stroke average. Bayerl is third overall in scoring for Akron with a 74.63 stroke average, while Puente and Smith follow with 76.5 averages. Smith will be making his first start for Akron.

The 18-team field includes host Old Dominion (Host), Akron, Campbell, Delaware, Drake, Drexel, George Mason, Georgetown, Hartford, Longwood, Manhattan, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Saint Francis, Saint Joseph's, Towson, UNCW, Winthrop.

Each day the tournament begins with split tee times from holes No. 1 and 10. Sunday and Monday's rounds are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., while Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8 a.m. start.

On Sunday, Akron is scheduled to start on the first tee, beginning at 10 a.m. Smith will get the Zips started, followed by Puente (10:09), Bayerl (10:18), Grayson (10:27), and McFarland (10:36).
