Akron, Ohio – After a 13-day layoff, the Akron men's golf team will traveled south to Powells Point, N.C. for their final tournament of the fall season at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Sunday through Monday, Oct. 22-24.

Old Dominion hosts the three-day, 54-hole tournament at Kilmarlic Golf Club, a par 71 course that stretches 6, 502 yards.

"We look forward to this event year after year, and hopefully we close out the fall with strong performances," Zips' head coach David Trainor said. "This team has worked hard, been competitive, and experienced some success so far this season, but we still have some work to do."

The Zips are coming off a eighth place finish (292-292-299 - 883, +19) at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate on Oct. 9-10 as senior George Baylis (Ascot, England), led the way. Baylis finished tied for third overall with 70 (-2). 68 (-4), and 75 (+3) scores en route to a 3-under par 213 performance.

Baylis and junior Elliott Grayson (Shelby, N.C.) enter the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate as the Zips' top golfers, each with a 72.09 stroke average. They will lead the Zips starting five followed by junior Jacob Appleby (North Canton, Ohio), freshman Fabian Sunden (Sweden), and sophomore Mitchell McFarland (Wheelersburg, Ohio).

The 18-team field includes host Old Dominion (Host), Akron, Ball State, Campbell, Delaware, Drake, Drexel, George Mason, Georgetown, Hartford, Longwood, Manhattan, Marshall, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Saint Francis, Saint Joseph's, and Towson.

Each day the tournament begins with split tee times from holes No. 1 and 10. Sunday and Monday's rounds are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., while Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8 a.m. start.

On Sunday, Akron is scheduled to start on the first tee, beginning at 10 a.m. McFarland will get the Zips started, followed by Sunden (10:09), Appleby (10:18), Baylis (10:27), and Grayson (10:36).
