Dornisch Leads Zips' Efforts on Opening Day of Northeast Ohio Quad

AKRON, Ohio - Senior Megan Dornisch (St. Mary's, Pa.) led the efforts for the Akron track and field team on Friday, April 15, finishing third in the women's hammer on the opening day of the Northeast Ohio Quad at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex.
Dornisch was the Zips' top finisher registering a throw of 188-4 (57.40m), while senior Bobby Mitman (Mansfield, Ohio) recorded a team-best mark of 188-3 (57.38m) in the men's hammer to place fifth.
Day two of the Northeast Ohio Quad commences with the women's javelin at 11 a.m. Running events kick off with the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 2 p.m. and are scheduled to conclude with the men's and women's 4x400 relays at 5:20 p.m.
The meet will be scored in a triple-dual format with scoring for events going 5-3-2-1 for individual events and 5-3 for relays.
