Seiler Earns Back-To-Back MAC East Pitcher of the Week

AKRON, Ohio – Akron softball ace senior Erin Seiler (Bowling Green, Ohio) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week for the second-consecutive week after her performances at the Rebel Spring Games.
The righty posted a 2-1 record and improved to 8-6 overall following her three complete game efforts this past weekend including an extra inning game and two games back-to-back.
In her three starts, Seiler threw 21.2 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) for a 0.65 earned run average. The Zips starter whiffed 22 batters to one lone walk while holding the opponents to a .211 batting average.
Seiler won the MAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in 2016 a week ago and has won the honor 12 times in her career.
Akron returns to action this weekend as the Zips travel to Washington, D.C., for the George Washington Invitational on March 12-13. Akron faces Canisius (10 a.m.) and George Washington (12:30 p.m.) on March 12 and set to go up against Gardner-Webb (10 a.m.) and Canisius (12:30 p.m.) on March 13.
