OCALA, Fla. – Laura Murray posted her second-consecutive top-10 finish while the Akron women's golf team concluded the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational in 11th place on Tuesday.
Murray posted a final-round 75 (+3) to move into a tie for ninth place with a three-day score of 223 (+7). The top-10 finish came one week after Murray closed the Rio Verde Invitational in a tie for 10th place.
As a team, Akron posted a round of 302 (+14), its second-lowest team round of the spring schedule and tied for the fourth-lowest round on the day, to move up one spot into 11th place (922, +58). South Dakota State won the event by one shot with a total score of 899 (+35).
Pader Her posted her lowest round of the spring schedule, carding a 2-over 74 to end the week in a tie for 33rd place (230, +14).
Sierra Everson concluded her climb up the leaderboard over the last two rounds, finishing tied for 57th place (235, +19). Her round of 77 (+5), coupled with her 3-over 75 on Monday, helped her climb 23 spots over the final two days.
Mallory Etcheberry tied her career-low round on Tuesday, firing a 4-over 76 to close the week in a tie for 67th place (238, +22).
Frida Fougberg rounded out the scoring-five in a tie for 81st place (245, +29). She carded a round of 80 (+8) on Tuesday.
Lesli Stolly, playing as an individual, finished in 94th place (263, +47).
The Zips return to action on April 11 when they head to Bowling Green, Ohio, for the Dolores Black Invitational.
