#14 Akron Rifle Team Wins at #17 Mississippi

RESULTS
OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 14 University of Akron rifle team closed out its regular season with a 4,601 to 4,591 win at No. 17 Mississippi on Saturday.
In the smallbore competition, the Zips shot four points better than Ole Miss, 2,266 to 2,262. Sophomore Zachary Strohl (Barto, Pa.) led UA with a 573. Junior Matt Chezem (Simi Valley, Calif.) followed with a 569.
In the air rifle division, Akron came out on top, firing a 2,335 to UM's 2,329. Strohl led UA with a 591, followed by Chezem with a 586.
Akron begins postseason play at the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference (WIRC) Championships on Saturday, Feb. 14, in West Lafayette, Ind., at 9 a.m.
