Women's Soccer Announces Spring Exhbition Schedule

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's soccer program and head coach Vernon Croft have announced the upcoming 2014 spring exhibition schedule.
Akron will play a total of five games in this spring's exhibition schedule. Three of the five matches will be played at home on the Akron campus, the first of which is this Saturday against Robert Morris at 12:30 p.m. in the Stile Athletics Field House.
The Zips will head out on the road for the following two matches at Saint Francis (March 15) and Cleveland State (April 6). Cleveland State is the lone opponent in the exhibition schedule that Akron matched up against in the 2013 regular season.
After the road contests, UA will play Malone (April 16) and Duquesne (April 25) at home to round out the spring schedule. Malone's match will be played on Schrank Field, while the spring season finale against Duquesne will be inside FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field.
In 2013, Akron recorded an overall record of 5-11-3 and 2-8-1 within the Mid-American Conference. The team posted a total of 59 points on offense, led by second team All-MAC selection Lani Smith with nine goals and two assists.
