TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Akron women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision on the road to Toledo on Friday at Scott Park.
UA connected on five shots on goal to UT's six for the match, but the Rockets found the back of the net on half of those attempts to yield the final score.
The result puts the two teams at identical overall records (6-8-1), while Akron slides to 2-5-0 in the Mid-American Conference and Toledo moves to 3-4-0 in league play.
Madison Kaser fired off a team-high four shots for the match, two of them on goal. Lani Smith, Holly Ohradzansky and Karina Atkinson each chalked up a shot on goal for the Zips.
Klaire Adee started in goal and made a pair of saves. Alex Luevano-Harden saw her first conference action of the season, logging 34:19 in goal and saving the only shot she saw.
UT struck first on a goal from Geri Siudzinski in the 32nd minute. The Rockets' tacked on two more early in the second half, in the 48th minute and the 50th minute. Toledo tallied 13 shots in all.
Akron had two corner kicks for the game, both after halftime, split between Atkinson and Karin Norman. Toledo posted five corners.
The Zips' road trip continues when they head to Central Michigan. UA will take on the Chippewas on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
