Women's Soccer Takes on CSU at Home on Sunday

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's soccer team is set to matchup against Cleveland State University on Sunday at 1 p.m., in the second home contest of the season.

Last weekend for the Zips…
- Akron played one match this past weekend, a 2-1 win over Canisius in Buffalo, N.Y.
- Freshman Sarah Sivic registered her team-high fourth goal in the win over Canisius.
- Junior Lani Smith dished out her first assist of the season and netted her third goal of the season. Smith earned Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her performance Sunday.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Klaire Adee improved her record in goal to 3-2-2 with the win, while also totaling five saves in the contest.
The Cleveland State Vikings…
- Cleveland State has already played a pair of games this week, which included a win over Madonna, 5-1, and a no-score tie with Ohio.
- Akron and CSU last matched up in the 2012 season in Cleveland, which resulted in a 2-0 win for the Zips.
- The Vikings offense is led by sophomore Vickie Havas, who has accounted for four of CSU's 16 goals this season. Havas has also chipped in three assists this season.
- Sophomore Sarah Wood has logged the most time in goal for CSU with nine starts, while also recording two shutouts and 70 saves.
- Head coach Derrek Falor is in his tenth year at the helm of the Cleveland State women's soccer team. He has accrued 44 wins in his time with the Vikings.

- The Zips' 12 assists this season rank third in the MAC, which gives the team an average of 1.71 per game.
- Sivic leads the MAC in points (12) and points per game (1.71). The native of Broadview Heights, Ohio is also tied for third in the MAC with four goals this season. Sivic's 12 points rank 74th in the nation.
- Megan Waskowski and Smith are tied for fifth in the MAC with three goals each. Smith has netted a goal in three of the past four matches.
- Sophomore defender Katie George leads the Zips with time on the pitch at 670 minutes, followed up by junior Brianna Kanz with 653 minutes.

- Dollar hotdogs will be available at the FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field concessions stands.
- There will be a postgame autograph session with the team on the west end of the field under the scoreboard.
- Akron women's basketball will also be in attendance, and will be doing autographs near concessions.
- Following the game, there will be a Light the Night Leukemia walk beginning at 5 p.m.
