Zips Alumni and Friends,
The 2013 season was the second in a series of successful years for The University of Akron baseball program. The entire coaching staff is ecstatic over the growth potential for collegiate baseball at Akron. I strongly believe that through the hard work of our student-athletes and coaches and the support from our administration, alumni and fans, we will have a championship caliber team sooner rather than later.
While we did not make the Mid-American Conference Tournament this spring, we experienced many positives throughout the season. Our student-athletes excelled in the classroom, we saw one player, Jared Turocy, named to an All-MAC team, and the program recorded four MAC series victories.
It is with these highlights in mind that I invite you to join us for the Zips Baseball Diamond Legends Classic on July 22, 2013. This event affords us the opportunity to continue to foster relationships with many of our outstanding alumni, as well as raise valuable funds that will help us build our program.
