Alex Helfrich Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron senior outfielder Alex Helfrich has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District team for District V, as by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Helfrich will now be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America team after earning first-team all-district honors. The honor is her third in three seasons, but her first on the first team.
An education major with a 3.96 GPA, boasts a .348 batting average with 10 RBIs and a .348 on-base percentage. She has 54 hits on the season and has scored 24 runs while stealing 26 bases in 30 attempts. She is in the top-two in 10 different offensive categories and has a .958 fielding percentage.
Helfrich is the third UA student-athlete to earn first-team all-district honors and is the first to earn three all-district awards.
