Akron Softball Continues MAC Play at Ohio this Weekend

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron softball team will continue the Mid-American Conference portion of its schedule when the squad travels to Athens, Ohio, to face the Ohio Bobcats this weekend.
The Zips (13-22-1, 0-8 MAC) and the Bobcats (15-20, 4-4 MAC) will take the field on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET before concluding the two-game series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Akron enters the series following a week off. The Zips were slated to play at St. Francis on Tuesday, but the doubleheader was cancelled due to the forecast of rain and cold temperatures. UA has lost four-straight contests and will look for its first conference wins this weekend.
Ohio enters the weekend with its own four-game losing streak, falling twice to Marshall and Miami (Ohio) in their last four outings. The Bobcats have lost three of their last four league contests.

Following the Ohio series, the Zips will travel to Moon Township, Pa., to face Robert Morris on Tuesday, April 17. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
